“I want labor to be the point, because everything in our lives is miraculously made with no idea of how it's done. As an active and critical consumer, and as someone who has attempted to make the flawless and failed, I wanted a transparency of construction here. If we know how it is made and how it falls apart, we will know how to rebuild it.” - Tom Sachs

From writer and director @damonjbarnes, ‘ROAM’ follows Reece Hughes, 18, an aspiring baker who, days before moving on campus for college, is blindsided by his best friend, Leo Thomas, 18, when Leo reveals that he is leaving for New York in two days to live with extended family.
This was my first attempt on creating a compelling short documentary. This was made towards the end of 2019 for my Documentary class for Stevenson University. We were able to partner up with the Maryland Office of Tourism and Creative Alliance to create this reflection piece on what it means to be a Baltimore creative.
This short documentary has been nominated for 4 FMI awards (Best Documentary, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Director) and hopefully, we get to take all the awards home on May 1st, 2020.
Update (May 1st, 9:52 pm) - Baltimore Creative won Best Documentary!!! Thank you guys for all the support!
Thanks for watching!

Finally got the time to finish this video I shot with @moy_photo @alziegirl back during @lightcitybmore 2019. Making the most out of this quarantine time.
Hopefully, you guys like it😊
This year was supposed to be the best year of my life. I finally would have been able to travel to Japan and Europe to explore beautiful areas and diverse cultures. Obviously, the world had different plans. This whole world pandemic has really opened my eyes that I don't need to travel far away to see something different and beautiful locally. That's why my friends and I took a day trip to go somewhere much closer but still unique to its nature. This is Assateague Island!
